Der Ausbruch des amerikanischen Bürgerkrieges verhinderte aber jahrelang den Beginn der Bahnbauarbeiten. Erst 1872 nahm die 1871 als Auffanggesellschaft gegründete Arkansas Central Ry. ein 48 Meilen langes Teilstück bis Clarendon, Ark. in Betrieb. 1877 ging die Bahn erneut pleite und wurde als Arkansas Midland RR reorganisiert. Alleinaktionär war dann die St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern Ry., die wiederum von der Missouri Pacific Ry. kontrolliert wurde (zu der Zeit ein Unternehmen des Eisenbahntycoons Gould). | | Specials: | Ausgestellt auf E(dgar) B(urton) Kinsworthy (1860-1932), einem bekannten Juristen aus Little Rock und Senator des Staates Arkansas.
