Info:Von 1714 bis 1837 stand Hannover mit England in Personalunion unter einem Herrscherhause. Georg III. König von Grossbritannien 1760-1820, zugleich Kurfürst, seit 1814 König von Hannover, wurde 1810 geisteskrank. Die Staatsgeschäfte führte danach in seinem Namen der Prince of Wales, der später 1820 als Georg IV. König von Grossbritannien und von Hannover wurde. Nachdem 1833 unter der Regierung von Wilhelm IV. (1765-1837, König von Großbritanien und Irland sowie König von Hannover von 1830-37), ein liberales Staatsgrundgesetz in Kraft trat, wurden in Hannover Reformbewegeungen erleichtert, es entstand aber auch entsprechender, durch Anleihe-Aufnahme zu deckender Finanzbedarf. Durch Ackerreformgesetze 1831/32 und 1842 wurden die Grundlasten der Bauern abgelöst. Die Beseitigung der gewerbebehindernden Zölle wirkte sich positiv auf die sich langsam anbahnende Industrialisierung aus.
