Seit 1894 importierte er Hildebrand & Wolfmüller-Motorräder, ab 1902 baute Türkheimer selbst Motorräder, von denen die Moto Astra das bekannteste wurde. Anläßlich der Aufnahme des Automobilbaus wandelte Türkheimer seine Firma 1905 in eine AG um. Die Voiturette mit luftgekühltem 5-PS-Motor wurde unter der Marke OTAV verkauft und war insbesondere in England sehr erfolgreich. 1907 fusionierte die Officine Turkheimer per Automobill e Velocipedi (OTAV) mit der Junior Fabbrica Torinese Automobili.
