Info:Gegründet 1908 in Baesweiler von der Röchling´schen Eisen- und Stahlwerke AG und Aciéries de Longwy als deutsch-französisches Gemeinschaftsunternehmen. Der Name Carl-Alexander stammt von dem Seniorchef Carl Röchling sowie dem Oberhaupt der Familie Longwy, Alexander Dreux. Als Standort für das neue Bergwerk wählte man den nördlichen Ortsrand von Baesweiler zwischen dem Übacher Weg und dem Herzogenrather Weg. 1908 wurde auf dem Zechengelände mit den Abteufarbeiten von zwei Schächten begonnen, die Förderung konnte jedoch erst 1921 aufgenommen werden. Ende der 20er Jahre errichte die Grube mit einer Förderung von über 500.000 Tonnen Steinkohle im Jahr eine Spitzenposition im Aachener Revier. 1965 übernahm der Eschweiler-Bergwerks-Verein die Gewerkschaft Carl-Alexander. 1975 stellte die Gewerkschaft die Förderung ein, 1992 wurden die Schächte verfüllt.
