Die Gesellschaft baute eine 60,8 km lange Strecke von Portland nach Bath und eine Zweigstrecke von Brunswick nach Augusta (53,8 km). Die 1848 gegründete Sommerset and Kennebec RR wurde geleast, die die Strecke von Augusta nach Skowhegan gebaut hatte. Nochmals neu gegründet 1864. 1870 durch die Maine Central geleast und 1874 endgültig aufgekauft.
