Die Teilstrecke Bellinzona-Lostalla wurde am 6.5.1907 eröffnet, die Reststrecke bis Mesocco am 31.7.1907. Die Misoxerbahn, so wird sie genannt, war zwischen 1942 und 2003 im Besitz der Rhätischen Bahn.
