Bis zum Holocaust war Jekaterinoslaw ein Zentrum jüdischen Lebens in Russland bzw. der Sowjetunion. Jekaterinoslaw heißt seit 1926 Dnipropetrowsk und wurde ursprünglich 1787 von Potemkin zu Ehren Katharina II. angelegt. Isaak Sudermann (ein jüdischer Geschäftsmann) hatte bereits 1894 für seine Ziegelei eine Dampfmaschine von der Görlitzer Maschinenbauanstalt und Eisengießerei gekauft und in seiner Fabrik aufstellen lassen. | | Specials: | Anker in allen vier Ecken.
