Die erfolgreichen Diamantsucher in Tejuco wurden ab 1770 von der Administração Geral dos Diamantes mit Diamanten-Wechsel-Noten bezahlt, die als Quittung ausgestellt wurden. Es war das allererste Papiergeld Brasiliens. Diese Noten waren umlauffähig und in Gold einlösbar. Sie wurden nach der Einlösung alle vernichtet.
