Im 1. Weltkrieg wurde die Brauerei stillgelegt, die Brennerei dagegen weiter ausgebaut. Ab 1929/30 auch Tee-Import. Außerdem im Geschäft mit Fruchtsäften (Emig und Bavaria) sowie Mineralwasser (St. Ansgari-Quelle) tätig. 1992 erwarb der Erzkonkurrent Berentzen die Aktienmehrheit.
