Das Areal verdankt seinen Namen der im Jahr 1399 gegründeten Kartuse (cartuja), in der sich Christoph Kolumbus längere Zeit aufhielt. Nach der Säkularisierung wurde das heruntergekommene Kloster 1839 von Charles Pickman gekauft und in eine Keramik- und Porzellanfabrik verwandelt. 1899 umgewandelt in eine AG. Im Zuge der Vorbereitungen auf die Expo, die 1992 auf dem Gelände des Kartäuserklosters fand, wurde die Porzellanfabrik verlegt. | | Specials: | Großformatiges Papier, sehr dekorativ gestaltet.
