Die Teilstrecke Bellinzona-Lostalla wurde am 6.5.1907 eröffnet, die Reststrecke bis Mesocco am 31.7.1907. Die sog. Misoxerbahn gehörte zwischen 1942 und 2003 zur Rhätischen Bahn.
