Die Neue Frankfurter Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG wurde 1940 umfirmiert in Frankfurter Versicherungs-AG anlässlich der Aufnahme der Hammonia Allg. Versicherungs-AG und der Providentia Allg. Versicherungs-AG durch Verschmelzung. Jahrzehntelang hielten die Allianz und die Münchner Rück dann Beteiligungen von jeweils knapp 50 %.
