Bis 1891 wurden auf der Festlandseite bis Baltimore zwei Konkurrenzbahnen mitbenutzt, am 5.10.1891 ging auf der 44 Meilen langen Distanz zwischen der Endstation Claiborne an der Chesapeake Bay und Baltimore eine direkte Dampferverbindung in Betrieb. Schon im April 1891 war die Bahn aber zahlungsunfähig geworden, im April 1892 kam sie unter die Kontrolle der Stadt Baltimore, die an der Verbindung großes wirtschaftliches Interesse hatte. | | Specials: | Großformatig, fast bierfilzgroße Vignette mit Personenzug in lieblicher Landschaft, im Hintergrund Schiffsanlegestelle mit Raddampfer. | | Availability: | Unentwertet.
