Gebuat wurde 1884(85 in Wisconsin zunächst die 67 Meilen lange Strecke Turtle Lake - Bruce - Main Creek. Nach einer Reorganisation 1887 gingen weitere Strecken in Betrieb: Minnesota-Turtle Lake, Wis (37 Meilen) sowie Main Creek-Rhinelander, Wis.-Gladstone-Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. (350 Meilen). 1888 Fusion mit der Minneapolis & Pacific, der Minneapolis & St. Croix und der Aberdeen, Bismarck & Northwestern Ry. (die zuvor alle unter die Kontrolle der Canadian Pacific gekommen waren) zur Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Ry.
