Zunächst wurden für den Kohleabbau fünf Tunnel in die Berge getrieben, 1913 wurde ein großer Kohlebrecher gebaut, 1915 Abteufung eines Tiefbau-Schachtes. Die Kohleabfuhr erfolgte zum Teil direkt über einen Eisenbahntunnel der Summit Branch RR (Williamstown Colliery Tunnel) unter dem Big Lick Mountain.
