Dank dieser Vorrichtung, noch heute als “Williamson Photosphere” bezeichnet, war es möglich, Filme auf dem Meeresgrund zu drehen. 1911 versuchte Williamson mit Unterstützung seiner Williamson Photosphere einen Silberschatz aus einem vor der Küste Virginias gesunkenen Dampfer zu heben. Im März 1914 wurde der allererste Unterwasser-Spielfilm der Kinogeschichte gedreht (“Williamson Submarine Expedition”). 1916 produzierte die Williamson Submarine Film Corp. in Nassau (Bahamas) die Unterwasser-Szenen für den Universal-Kassenknüller „20,000 Leagues under the Sea“ mit Captain Nemo und seiner „Nautilus“. | | Specials: | Adler-Vignette.
