Die 110 Meilen lange Hauptstrecke von Marietta, Ga. nach Murphy, N.C. ging dann 1883 endlich in Betrieb. 1887 Fusion mit der Georgia & North Carolina RR, womit die Strecke im Norden um weitere 95 Meilen nach Knoxville, Tenn. verlängert wurde, im Süden wurde via Streckenrechte das 20 Meilen von Marietta entfernte Atlanta, Ga. erreicht. 1890 außerdem Übernahme der Knoxville Southern RR. 1891 insolvent, 1896 als Atlanta, Knoxville & Northern RR reorganisiert, währenddessen 1890-97 von Schmalspur auf Normalspur umgebaut. 1902 erwarb die Louisville & Nashville RR die Aktienmehrheit, womit die Bahn über die Southern Railway schließlich zur 1983 entstandenen CSX kam. CSX verkaufte die (bis heute in Betrieb befindlichen) Strecken später an die Georgia Northeastern RR (seit 1998 die Blue Ridge Scenic Ry.) sowie das Georgia Department of Transportation. | | Specials: | Sehr dekoratives Papier, ABNC-Stahlstich mit besonders großer Personenzug-Vignette. | | Availability: | Unentwertet, mit Kupons ab 1891.
