Konzessioniert war sie zum Bau einer Bahnstrecke zwischen Lexington im Zentrum der Bluegrass Region über die Kentucky-Hauptstadt Frankfort zur Binnenhafenstadt Louisville an den Falls of the Ohio. Die Strecke wurde nie vollendet, und die Panik von 1837 führte zum Zusammenbruch der Bahngesellschaft. Die vorhandenen Streckenabschnitte wurden 1840 vom Commonwealth of Kentucky zur Begleichung von Schulden beschlagnahmt. Die Streckenrechte wurden später von den Louisville & Frankfort und Lexington & Frankfort RR‘s erworben (die 1869 zur Louisville, Cincinnati & Lexington RR fusionierten, 1877 unter sonst gleichem Namen als Ry. reorganisiert).
