Stetson, den "Maker of the Stetson cowboy hats" nach einer langen Western Expedition. Stetson entwickelte den weltbekannten Prototyp für alle anderen Cowboy-Hüte. Später wurde die Massen-Produktion der Cowboy-Hüte nach St. Joseph im Bundesstaat Missouri verlegt, wo Stetson eine Fabrik eröffnete. Ein Zweitwerk wurde in Galveston im Bundesstaat Texs in Betrieb genommen. Sein Cowboy-Hut "Boss of the Plains" schmückte das Haupt diverser Leinwand-Helden, wie John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Clayton Moore als Long Ranger oder Larry Hagman als J.R. Ewing. Die Hutproduktion wurde nach über 100 Jahren im Jahr 1970 aufgegeben. In den 80er Jahren nochmals aufgenommen, aber durch die Insolvenz im Jahr 1986 endgültig beendet.
