Dies war die allererste staatlich konzessionierte Bank von Virginia überhaupt. Zu den größten Befürwortern der Bank of Alexandria gehörte George Washington, der selbst auch 25 shares besaß und sein Geld auf dieser Bank deponierte. Das 1807 neu errichtete Bankgebäude in der Stadt Alexandria wurde 1973 in das „National Register of Hstoric Places“ aufgenommen. Die Bank mußte 1834 Konkurs anmelden. | | Specials: | Büttenpapier mit Wasserzeichen, Prägesiegel der Bank mit Darstellung eines Dreimastseglers. Original signiert von William Herbert (1748-1818), Präsident der Bank of Alexandria von 1796 bis 1819, außerdem Bürgermeister der Stadt Alexandria im Jahr 1782 und erneut 1809-12. | | Availability: | Eine bereits im 18.
