Eine zutiefst lokale Angelegenheit des Carter County, in dem neben landwirtschaftlichen Produkten vor allem Kohle, Brennholz und Kalksteine zu transportieren waren. Vor allem letzterem diente diese 21 Meilen lange, 1890 eröffnete Nebenstrecke der E.K.RR., die Stone City, Ky. mit Freestone, Gesling und Carter City verband und die Kalksteinbrüche der Gegend erschloß.
