Die Aktie ist im OMX Stockholm 30 Index. Gegründet 1883 als „AB Separator“ durch Gustaf de Laval und Oscar Lamm. Anfangs werden Milch-Zentrifugen hergestellt, ab 1910 Melkmaschinen, ab 1938 Wärmetauscher. 1963 wird der alte Firmenname „AB Separator“ abgelegt und der obige angenommen. 1991 wird Alfa-Laval mehrheitlich vom Verpackungskonzern Tetra Pak übernommen, der die Beteiligung 2000 an die Private-Equity-Firma Industri Kapital weitergibt.
