Mit Abstand größtes Unternehmen der Papier- und Zellulose-Industrie in der Monarchie. Hauptwerke: Gratwein bei Graz, Josefsthal bei Laibach und Zwischenwässern in Krain. 1952 umfirmiert in Leykam-Josefsthal AG für Papier- und Zellstoff-Industrie. Die Aktien notierten in Wien, Berlin, Dresden und Frankfurt a.M. 1974 Fusion mit der Mürztaler Holzstoff- und Papierfabriks-AG Bruck zur “Leykam Mürztaler Papier und Zellstoff AG”. Mehrheitsaktionär war über ein Jahrhundert lang die Creditanstalt-Bankverein gewesen, die 1988 ihre Anteile an die Koninklijke Nederlandse Papierfabrieken (KNP) verkaufte. KNP LEYKAM Gratkorn wurde dann 1998 vom finnischen Papierkonzern Sappi übernommen.
