Die Strecke kam später zum NP-Nachfolger Burlington Northern Santa Fé (BNSF), der ein Teilnetz von 900 Meilen im südlichen Montana (einschließlich dieser Bahn) 1987 auf 60 Jahre an die private Montana Rail Link verpachtete.
