Automobile herstellte, gründete im April 1900 The Autocar Company. Sitz war in Ardmore, Pa. 1900 oder 1901 begann die Produktion von Automobilen, der Markenname lautete Autocar. 1907 kamen Nutzfahrzeuge hinzu, 1912 endete die PKW-Produktion. Von 1901 bis 1911 wurden 5787 PKW hergestellt (Runabout, Phaeton, Tonneau, Tourenwagen, Roadster). Die LKW-Produktion wurde fortgeführt. 1953 übernahm White Motor Co. das Unternehmen und gliederte es als Autocar Division in ihren Konzern ein. 1981 übernahm Volvo White, 2000 stellte Volvo die Marke Autocar ein. 2001 verkaufte Volvo die Marke Autocar an GVW Group LLC.
