Dazu kamen die Zweigbahnen Klein-Reifling-Amstellen (44 km), Hieflau-Eisenerz (14 km), St. Michael-Leoben (11 km), Launsdorf-Mösel (25 km), Glandorf-Klagenfurt (18 km) sowie die 173 km lange Salzkammergutbahn Steinach-Irdning-Schärding (eröffnet 1877, bis an die deutsche Grenze bei Passau führend). Bereits 1883/84 wurde die Bahn verstaatlicht. Ein Teil des Streckennetzes liegt heute in Slowenien bzw.
