Erfolgreich geführtes Finanzinstitut mit jährlicher Dividende zwischen 16% und 20%. 1894 übernahm sie die Hull Banking Co. und 1897 die Barnsley Banking Co. 1910 verschmolzen mit der 1836 gegründeten London Joint Stock Bank. Diese ging 1918 in der Midland Bank auf, die wiederum 1992 von der Hongkong & shanghai Banking Co.
