Gegründet durch berühmte New Yorker Persönlichkeiten: John Jacob Astor, J.P. Morgan und Cornelius Vanderbilt. Eröffnet am 6. November 1909 mit Shakespeares "Anthony and Cleopatra". Es war bekannt für seine tolle Architektur, hatte aber eine schlechte Akkustik und eine ungünstige Lage, so dass es nicht erfolgreich war. Es war bekannt als "New York's most spectacularly unsuccessful theater". 1931 wurde es abgerissen und ersetzt durch das Century Apartment Gebäude. | | Specials: | Herrlicher Druck der American Bank Note Co. mit Abb. des Theaters und frühen Automobilen, links und rechts flankiert von Allegorien.
