place: | Missouri & Iowa | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 252 | | Info: | Ursprünglich 1857 konzessioniert als Alexandria & Bloomfield RR zum Bau einer Bahn von Alexandria am Mississippi River (gegenüber von Warsaw) Richtung Bloomfield in Iowa etwas nördlich der Missouri/Iowa-Staatsgrenze. 1966 umbenannt in Alexandria & Nebraska City RR. 1869 unter obigem Namen Fusion mit der 1866 gegründeten Iowa Southern Ry. 1871/72 ging der größte Teil der Strecke (Alexandria-Luray-Centerville) in Betrieb, der Abschnitt Centerville-Corydon, Ia. dann 1876, womit die 112 Meilen lange Bahn dann fertig war.Nach Konkurs 1886 als Keokuk & Western RR reorganisiert. 1901 kaufte die Chicago, Burlington & Quincy die Bahn und verband sie mit der Humeston & Shenandoah RR zu einer durchgehenden Strecke Keokuk-Shenandoah, Ia. 1958 fuhr der letzte Personenzug, komplette Betriebseinstellung auf der strecke in Etappen 1970-82. | | Specials: | Ausgestellt auf die Iowa Railroad Construction Co.
