place: | Weißbach | | Picture: |  | | Info: | Keimzelle war die 1898 gegründete Textilgesellschaft Weißbach GmbH, die zunächst hauptsächlich Bucheinbandstoffe fertigte. 1920 trat Konrad Hornschuch als Gesellschafter in das Unternehmen ein und gründete die Hornschuch Familien AG. Er erweiterte die Produktion um Kunstleder. 1958 wurden die Marken "d-c-fix" und "skal" eingeführt. In den Wirtschaftwunderjahren der Nachkriegszeit erlebte das Unternehmen durch diese Trend-Produkte ein rasches Wachstum. Weitere Entwicklungen und Markenprodukte folgten. 2001 übernahm die niederländische Halder-Gruppe die Aktienmehrheit, die die Aktien aber 2006 an die DZ Equity Partner GmbH und den L-EA Mittelstandsfond weiterverkaufte. 2008 übernahm die Barclays Private Equity den Mehrheitsanteil von 80% am Unternehmen. Weitere Produktinnovationen folgten im Laufe der letzten Jahre.
