Theodore Armstrong, einer der Eigentümer, erwarb 1898 das Wyandotte-Gelände in Riverview, unter dem sich 180.000 t Salz befanden. Es wurde zunächst zur Herstellung von Natriumlauge und Chlor genutzt bzw. an Fleischfabriken verkauft. 1957 umbenannt in Pennsalt Chemicals Co. 1963 konnte das 100. Jubiläum einer ununterbrochenen Dividenden-Zahlung gefeiert werden. 1969 Umbenennung in Pennsalt Co. 1989 freundliche Übernahme durch die US-Tochter des französischen Konzerns Elf Aquitaine (ab 2000 TotalFinaElf).
