Die Konzession beinhaltete die Besiedlung von 200 Siedlerfamilien auf 48 Mio. acres Land. Die Hälfte der Landrechte verkaufte Beales an die von ihm gegründete New Arkansas and Texas Land Co. Die von Beales gegründeten Gesellschaften kontrollierten insgesamt eine Landfläche von 1/3 des Staates Texas. Die Kolonisationspläne von Beales fanden mit dem Texas-Mexiko Krieg von 1836 ein jähes Ende.
