Geschäftssitz war Konstantinopel, während die Verwaltung in Paris und London ausgeübt wurde (wo die Aktien auch börsennotiert waren). Die Bank, die auch das Privileg zur Ausgabe von Banknoten besaß, wuchs bald in die Funktion einer Nationalbank des osmanischen Reiches hinein. Nach der jungtürkischen Revolution unter Atatürk gab sie 1925 diese Aufgabe an die heutige türkische Zentralbank ab und benannte sich in “Osmanli Bankasi” um.
