Mit der 1929 gegründeten Hotelgesellschaft wollte man sich zu einem mondänen Luftkurort mausern. Die hübsche Lage auf 1.100 m Höhe am Fusse des Chasseron, mit 1.607 m höchster Berg im Schweizer Jura, ermunterte dazu. Aber so recht wurde nichts daraus. Die übermächtige Konkurrenz in den Walliser Alpen, im Berner Oberland und in Graubünden, behielt die Nase vorn, läuft bis heute dem Jura den Rang ab.
