Das alte Bankgebäude stand an der Ecke Sixth und Market Street. Die schwere Bankenkrise von 1841, als im Januar die Bank of the United States kollabierte, überlebte auch sie nicht: Am 17.12.1841 stellte die Schuylkill Bank ihre Zahlungen ein, nachdem sich herausgestellt hatte, daß ihr Kassierer Hosea J.
