place: | Paris | | Picture: |  | | Info: | Die seit 1845 bestehende Firma Delahaye in Tours stellte anfänglich Ziegeleimaschinen her; zum Autogeschäft fand man 1894 mit dem Bau eines Heckmotorwagens nach Benz-Vorbild. Emile Delahaye, der einige der allerersten Automobilrennen in Frankreich gewann, zog sich aus dem Geschäft 1902 zurück, als Chefkonstrukteur Charles Weiffenbach seine Position antrat und bis 1948 behielt. Ab 1935 brillierte Delahaye mit Touren- und Luxuswagen, gehörte auch im Motorsport zur Weltelite. 1953 wurden die letzten Personenwagen unter der Marke Delahaye gebaut, bis 1956 noch Lastwagen.
