place: | New Jersey | | Picture: |  | | Info: | Gründung 1900 als U.S. Long Distance Automobile Company. 1901 lancierte die Gesellschaft ihr erstes Touring-Modell, entworfen von C.C. Riotte. 1903 baute die Ges. den “Standard Tourist”, ein Fünfsitzer-PKW mit Vierzylindermotor, 25 PS stark. 1904 wurde die Ges. umbenannt wie oben. 1906 Entwicklung der Getriebeölpumpe für Automotoren, 1907 Entwicklung eines V-8-Motors. Neben dem Bau von Automobilen konzentrierte sich die Ges. auch auf den Bau von Lokomotivmotoren (die von ihr 1907 entwickelte 300 PS-Maschine wurde von der McKeen Motor Car Co. nachgebaut und auf den Eisenbahnlinien von Harriman eingesetzt), Schnellbooten und Schiffsmotoren. Ab 1905 Zusammenarbeit mit der Hewitt Motor Co., die das Automobilgeschäft der Standard Motor Construction übernahm.
