Hauptstrecke Pendleton, Ore. nördlich bis zum Columbia River, dann weiter östlich nach Dayton, Wash. (128 Meilen), Abzweigungen nach Pleasant View, Wash., Athena, Ore. und Killian Junc., Ore. 1898 von der Northern Pacific übernommen worden. | | Specials: | Eingetragen auf und rückseitig eigenhändig signiert von Charles B. Wright. Charles Barstow Wright (1822-1898), bedeutender Financier, begann bereits Anfang der 50er Jahre den Eisenbahnbau zu finanzieren. Die Finanzierung der Philadelphia & Erie RR war zu großem Teil sein Verdienst. Danach formte Wright ein Syndikat zum Bau eines Eisenbahnnetzes zum Oil City in den gerade entdeckten Ölfeldern in West-Pennsylvania. Bei dieser Gelegenheit baute er Geschäftskontakte zu dem großen Bankier Jay Cooke. 1870 wurde Wright in das Direktorium der Northern Pacific RR als Cook’s Repräsentant gewählt (Cook’s 5 Mio.$ waren praktisch das NP-Startkapital). | | Availability: | In dieser Form ein Unikat. | | Condition: | EF. | | Sold: | 440,00 EUR |
