Stratton nach Verschmelzung der Colorado Springs Rapid Transit Railway mit der Colorado Springs & Suburban Railway. Die Streckenlänge betrug 38 Meilen. Die Strassenbahn verband Colorado Springs, Manitou, Colorado City, Boswell und Ivywild. Nach Strattons Tod am 14.9.1902 wurde die Gesellschaft im Strattons Sinn weitergeführt, wobei seine soziale Einstellung in den Privilegien der Angestellten dieser Bahn verankert wurde. Nicht nur gute Entlohnung der Angestellten war selbstverständlich, auch kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellte Dienstuniformen (andere Bahnen verkauften teuer die Uniformen an ihre Angestellten). Es war auch die allererste Straßenbahngesellschaft überhaupt, die eine günstige Lebensversicherung für alle ihre Angestellten ausgehandelt hat. | | Specials: | Hochdekorative Gestaltung mit Portrait von W.S. Stratton als Stahlstichvignette links oben. Nur auf den Aktien dieser Gesellschaft wurde Strattons Portrait verewigt. Exakt drei Stücke sind bekannt: Probedruck von 1902, diese Aktie #12 von 1923 und ein Stück von 1924., wie das hier angebotene, ebenfalls unentwertet. Kleiner Einriß am rechten Rand hinterklebt sonst bester Erhaltungszustand. Höchste Rarität. Dabei: alte Werbebroschüre “Where You Can GO - What You Can See - On the Street Cars”, 12 Seiten mit schönen Photographien von Colorado Springs, u.a. Stratton Park. | | Availability: | Colorado Springs & Interurban Railway is the evolution of the Colorado Springs Rapid Transit Railway, owned and funded by W.S. Stratton. This was the last evolution of this company before Stratton died. What is truly interesting is the steel-engraving of W.S. Stratton on the left. They are only 3 certificates in this format for this company: 1902 proof, this one #12 issued 1923 and another one issued 1924, also uncancelled.
