Die Ges. gehörte zu der Gruppe von Charles Tutt und Spencer Penrose, Das Werk der Gesellschaft befand sich auf Bull Hill, direkt in der Nähe der profitabelsten Goldminen im ganzen Cripple Creek Distrikt. Täglich wurden ca. 1200 Tonnen Golderz in einer Mühle verarbeitet. Außerdem betrieb die Ges. eine Gesteinsmühle in der Stadt Cripple Creek mit einer Verarbeitungskapazität von 10.000 Tonnen monatlich. Die Ges. zahlte auch Vorschüsse an die kleinen Goldgräbern, die eine Wartezeit von mehreren Wochen dann überbrücken konnten (zuerst mußte das Erz auf den Goldgehalt überprüft werden, erst dann wurde es zur Schmelze gebracht). | | Specials: | Sehr dekorative Gestaltung mit zwei Fabelwesen. Die Aktie dokumentiert den Einstieg von Tutt und Penrose in das "Sampling"-Geschäft, die damit die Kontrolle über die Goldgewinnung von der Grube bis zum fertigen Produkt in dem Cripple Creek Distrikt schufen. Als nächster Schritt war das Ereichen der Kontrolle über den Transport des Golderzes fällig, was mit der Schaffung der Cripple Creek Central Railway erreicht wurde. Nur sechs Stücke bekannt, davon zwei Teilblanketten mit unbedeutenden Signaturen. Rarität. | | Availability: | This sampling company was vital to the chain of interests Charles Tutt and Spencer Penrose owned and operated in their effort to control a large section of the gold ores processed from the Cripple Creek District. This uncancelled certificate issued to the treasurer of United States Reduction and Refining Co., on the face hand signed by Charles L. Tutt as president and by Spencer Penrose as secretary. Signed on the back once again by Spencer Penrose as the treasurer of United States Reduction and Refining Co. and witnessed by Charless M. MacNeill. The importance of this certificate is vast, as it marks the beginning of the sampling business for the Tutt und Penrose empire. They already owned several producing mines, several reduction mills, as well as several smelters. With the acquisition of samplers, they controlled a good section of gold production from extraction through refining. Two folds, otherwise very good condition. This certificate is one of 6 known.
