Nach der Schlacht von Waterloo (1815) wurde sie 1816 in “Waterloo Bridge” umgetauft. 1878 wurde die Brücke verstaatlicht und durch das Metropolitan Board of Works übernommen, welches auch die bisher erhobene Maut aufhob.
