Ab 1902 baute die Firma John Child Meredith Ltd. Automobile, die sowohl unter dem Namen Abingdon wie auch als Meredith verkauft wurden. Zuerst lieferte die Firma 2,5 PS Modelle mit Minerva und Fafnir-Einbau-Motoren. Nach Umbenennung 1909 in Abingdon-Ecco Ltd. wurden neben Automobilen auch Motoren für Motorräder entwickelt (die man auch anderen Herstellern zulieferte). Nach dem 1. WK umfaßte das Modell-Programm V-Zweizylinder mit 794 ccm und Einzylinder mit 499 bis 625 ccm Hubraum, auch Automobile produzierten die Abingdon Works 1922/23 in kleinen Stückzahlen.
