Zeitweise der größte US-Hersteller von Straßenbahnwagen und Oberleitungsbussen in den USA mit Tochterfirmen in Kanada und Frankreich. Die Canadian Brill Co., gegründet 1921 in Fort Edward (Ontario) fertigte Brill- und ACF-Brill Fahrzeuge unter dem Markennamen Canadian Brill und nach 1944 bis 1954 Canadian Car & Foundry-Brill (CCF-Brill). 1926 übernahm der 1899 gegründete Nutzfahrzeug- und Karosseriehersteller American Car & Foundry (ACF) die Mehrheit an Brill. ACF war sehr stark in der Herstellung von Omnibussen. Straßenbahnen waren ab den 1930er Jahren kaum noch gefragt, weshalb die entsprechenden Brill-Werke bis 1944 nach und nach geschlossen wurden.
