place: | Pré-Saint-Gervais | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 8609 | | Info: | Die 1891 nordöstlich von Paris gegründete Gladiator Cycle Co. gehörte erst Alexandre Darracq, ab 1896 einer in London börsennotierten AG und ab 1906 Vinot & Deguingand. In obiger Form 1916 gegründet. Ab 1896 wurde die Produktpalette erweitert um Dreiräder und Vierräder, kurz nach 1900 kam ein motorisiertes Fahrrad hinzu, später auch Automobile und Motorräder. Die Clément-Gladiator-Automobile wurden in einer Fabrik in Levallois-Perret gebaut, schon 1902 erreichte die Produktion über 1.000 Autos im Jahr, von denen rd. 80 % in den Export nach England gingen. Ab 1907 hieß die Marke nur noch Gladiator und wurde von Vinot & Deguingand übernommen, die die Produktion in ihre Fabrik in Puteaux verlegten (und den Markennamen Gladiator 1920 aufgaben). Das alte Werk in Pré-Saint-Gervais kehrte zur Fahrradproduktion zurück und war ab 1915 einer der wichtigsten französischen Waffenproduzenten, u.a. wurde hier das Chauchat Maschinengewehr hergestellt. | | Specials: | Ganz in braun gedruckt, Umrahmung mit Firmensignet in allen vier Ecken. | | Availability: | Unentwertet, Kupons # 4 uff. anhängend. | | Condition: | VF | | Sold: | unsold |
