Betrieb von Bankgeschäften jeder Art unter besonderer Förderung der Bauwirtschaft und des Wohnungsbaues. 1949 Sitzverlegung nach Frankfurt a.M. 1979 übernahm die Deutsche Pfandbriefanstalt (seit 1998/99 DePfa Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG) eine Mehrheitsbeteiligung.
