Im Laufe der Jahrzehnte wurden ein gutes Dutzend weitere Bahnen aufgekauft und 1916 durch Verschmelzung ganz aufgesogen. So entstand ein über 1.800 Meilen Streckenlänge umfassendes Netz mit der Hauptstrecke Detroit, Mich. nach Kensington, Ill. (270 Meilen). Zuletzt Teil des mächtigen New-York-Central-Systems. | | Specials: | Mit Holzstich-Vignette einer Uralt-Eisenbahn und blauem Siegel. Original signiert von John M. Forbes als Präsident. John Murray Forbes (1813-1898) war ein bedeutender Bostoner Unternehmer, Eisenbahnförderer und Philantrop. Der Geschichstwissenschaftler Richard C.
