Nach Übernahme durch Southern Pacific Railroad wurde die Gesellschaft zu Southern Pacific Information Network umorganisiert. 1986 Fusion mit US Telecom zu United Telecom, 1991 in Sprint Corporation umbenannt. Ab 2005 agiert die Gesellschaft als Sprint Nextel (gegr. 1987).
