Sie war dann Teil der Transkontinental-Eisenbahn des Atchinson-Systems und die einzige Verbindung zwischen den Atchinson-Bahnen in Kalifornien und dem Rest des Systems. Die beachtliche Streckenlänge von 804 Meilen (davon 103 zweigleisig) ergab sich dadurch, daß bei der Gründung auch noch folgende Bahnen übernommen wurden: Randsburg Ry.; California Eastern Ry.; Barnwell & Searchlight Ry.; Arizona & California Ry.; Santa Fe, Prescott & Phoenix Ry.; Prescott & Eastern RR; Bradshaw Mountain RR; Fullerton & Richfield Ry.; Perris & Lake View Ry.; Fresno County Ry.; Kings River Ry.; Oakdale Western Ry.; Oakland & East Side RR.
