Info:Strecke Buffalo, N.Y. nach Erie, Pa. (88 Meilen, ferner 35 Meilen Flügelbahnen). 1867 als Buffalo & Erie RR konsolidiert.
Specials:Daniel Drew (1797-1879) dem diese Aktie gehörte war einer bekanntesten und rücksichtslosesten Eisenbahnspekulanten überhaupt. Seine Karriere verlief über Jahrzehnte ziemlich parellel zu der Karriere von Commodore Vanderbilt. Bereits 1834 versuchte Drew vergeblich, im Kampf gegen den Commodore die Macht über die Dampfschifffahrt auf dem Hudson River zu erringen. In der Folge wurde er finanziell stark von Henry Astor abhängig und begann ab 1844 an der Wall Street zu spekulieren. 1857 wurde Daniel Drew Direktor der Erie Railroad und war kurz darauf in eine große Aktienmanipulation verwickelt. Nachdem er zusammen mit Jim Fisk den Erie-War gegen den Commodore siegreich beendet hatte, wendete sich das Spekulationsglück gegen Drew, der 1879 völlig verarmt gestorben ist. Schöne Vignette mit Dampflok, im Hintergrund eine Stadt und Segeldampfer. Die rückseitig angebrachte markante Originalsignatur von Daniel Drew als Aktieninhaber ist klar und nicht entwertet.
