Die Fabrik hatte eine Produktionskapazität von 390.000 t Portlandzement im Jahr, außerdem eine Dolomitbrennereianlage, die mit einer Jahreskapazität von 100.000 t eine der größten des Kontinents war. Die Aktien waren in Wien börsennotiert. Im Dritten Reich kam das Unternehmen als “Fels” Zement- und Dolomitwerke AG zum Einflussbereich der Reichswerke Hermann Göring (Stahlwerke Peine-Salzgitter). Nach dem Krieg verlegten die Fels-Werke ihren Sitz nach Goslar/Harz, wo sie als bedeutender Baustoffhersteller noch heute ansässig sind.
